£86,000 of Interest-Free Loans Awarded to People in Leicestershire & Rutland

The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity (STWLC) is delighted to announce that seven interest-free loans were awarded to people within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland in the third quarter of 2022.

Established in 1542, STWLC hosts quarterly application windows each year in which people aged over 18 and under 45 can apply for unique interest-free loans of up to £20,000 to aid local businesses, or £10,000 to support students wishing to return to postgraduate education.

In the latest round of applications, the Charity approved loans totalling £65,000 for four businesses – including a photographer and beautician – in addition to three education loans totalling £21,000, which will see students continue their education with courses including an MA in Games Design and a MSc Physician Associate.

Lucy Womack, Chair of Trustees at STWLC, said: “It’s fantastic to see the Charity’s interest-free business and education loans continuing to support individuals and organisations across Leicestershire & Rutland, with another seven loans equating £86,000 approved at our latest round of applications.

“The Charity’s offer of interest-free loans up to the value of £20,000 for business or £10,000 for education – all repayable over nine years with nothing to repay in the first three – is truly unique. To some people it sounds too good to be true, but that’s just what we do – and we love doing it! If you want to follow your dreams but need financial support to facilitate them, please visit our website to learn more.”

Application packs are available to download upon completion of a contact form on STWLC’s website.

The next deadline for applications is Tuesday 3rd January 2023.
