The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity was proud to sponsor DMUworks Enterprise’s first Leicestershire Entrepreneurship Day, which took place at De Montfort University on Tuesday 5 November as part of the city-wide Leicester Business Festival.
Providing an opportunity for predominantly young entrepreneurs within the city to learn from some of Leicester’s renowned names in business, the successful event was opened by The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity’s patron – and one of the county’s most successful businessmen – Barrie Stephen.
The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity is delighted to announce that it is to be the main sponsor for Leicestershire Entrepreneurship Day; an event hosted at De Montfort University’s Student Union on Tuesday 5 November that will form part of the Leicester Business Festival.
Organised by De Montfort University’s DMUWorks, the event, running from 9.00am to 6.00pm, will consist of a day of inspirational guest speakers, panel Q&As, live and pre-recorded interviews, and networking.
The event will also provide an opportunity to celebrate local entrepreneurial successes and to inspire delegates through individuals from outside the region sharing their stories.
The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity (STW) hosted its first-ever event for aspiring business owners at Friars Mill on Wednesday 31 October, forming part of the 2018 Leicester Business Festival.
‘Challenges and Triumphs of Business Start-Up’ allowed delegates to hear first-hand accounts of the journey experienced by two young business owners within Leicester, in addition to accessing insightful information regarding business planning, creating a financial forecast and the interest-free financial support available through The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity.
Speaking at the event were business loan borrowers and STW ambassadors, Hannah Myatt – owner of Skytribe Dance Studio, and Lee Tomes, who owns Orange Fox Productions.

Forming part of the 2018 Leicester Business Festival, the event – Challenges and Triumphs of Business Start-Up – takes place at Friars Mill from 9.30am on Wednesday 31 October 2018 and is completely FREE OF CHARGE to attend.
The three-hour long event is perfect for those aged between 18 and 34 who want to start, or have recently started, their own business.
Those in attendance will hear first-hand from young businesses who have experienced the challenges and triumphs of starting a business within Leicestershire, making the leap as a young person to become self-employed.
