The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity has announced the latest figure approved to people in Leicestershire aged between 18 and 35, with £136,374 provided in nine-year interest-free loans following the Charity’s most recent round of interviews with prospective borrowers, which were held in February.
The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity (STWLC) has announced an incredible record-breaking quarter, which saw the Charity provide over £170,000 in interest-free business and education loans to young people within Leicestershire and Rutland.
Following the Charity’s latest round of quarterly interviews with prospective borrowers, held in August, STWLC approved a grand total of £171,656 in loans to people aged between 18 and 35 in the region.
The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity continued their support of budding Leicestershire-based entrepreneurs last week, attending Loughborough University’s Think BIG Awards; a celebration of student and graduate enterprise.
Taking place at Loughborough University on Wednesday 25th June, a sizable audience joined together to acknowledge a huge selection innovative projects developed by the university’s current students, alongside those that have recently graduated.

We are pleased to announce that our first round of applicant interviews of 2014 will take place on Monday 3rd, Wednesday 5th, Thursday 6th and Thursday 11th February.
Monday 3rd February has been allocated to interview those that have applied for one of the Sir Thomas White Loan Charity’s education loans, whilst remaining dates will be utilised to interview prospective borrowers for our business loans, in addition to any additional education loan borrowers.
The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity provides loans that are interest free for nine years, with repayments to be made in equal instalments after three years.
Eligible borrowers looking to start up a business can borrow up to £15,000, whilst those applying for a loan to assist with post-graduate study can borrow up to £6,000.
