The ability to transform passion into a living is one of the key incentives for many to become their own boss and set up their own company.
That’s exactly what Greg Shute was keen to do and has since forged a hugely-successful career as a guitar tutor, thanks to assistance from the Sir Thomas White Loan Charity.
Having previously taught lessons from a room in his house, Greg was keen to have professional premises to conduct his business from. Investigating the cost of renting space, Greg realised that overheads could be greater if he rented – and instead decided to construct the space himself.
Making contact with the Sir Thomas White Loan Charity, Greg successfully applied for a business loan – and the rest is history. Using his loan to construct a portable music studio, which is located in his back garden, Greg now has a professional setting to conduct lessons, in addition to a studio to record his own music, as well as that of his students.
