Students Learn About STWLC at DMU Conference

Around 800 career-driven students attended De Montfort University’s PAVE (Plan Ahead, Value Employability) conference on Tuesday 10th November, and Sir Thomas White Loan Charity trustee David Howard was on hand to promote its business and education loans.

Between 11:00am and 3:00pm, the Charity had a stand in the main conference hall of the University’s new event space The Venue.

PAVE square 300x300Students were able to find out about the funding available to them, and how the interest-free loans could help them progress in their future plans.

In addition to this David was also happy to offer advice to any students unsure of what direction they want to go in, and to help any with ideas which were not fully formed.

A range of organisations including other charities and a number of employers were also in attendance, to help students to focus on their future prospects.

As well as the exhibition area in main hall there was also a presentation room set up in the building.

This had room for 200 people at a time, where numerous inspiring and though-provoking talks for students were held throughout the day.

David at PAVE 300x300David Howard said: “Hopefully we’ve sown the seeds for students doing postgraduate education, or looking to set up a business, to consider us for financial assistance.

“It’s great for us to be able to attend events such as this, it’s been a pleasure to meet so many  students, and I hope we can support some of them in the future.”

The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity is always looking for more young people to support with its loans.
