Ensure you have thought through your business venture fully in order that you are able to sell your idea to the Charity and to your proposed guarantors. Be clear about what you are selling; where you will operate from; what your market is; who your competitors are; what your costs will be – and what you in turn will charge.

• Go to the Contact Us page or telephone – 0116 2046620 to apply for an application pack. You will need up to 4 guarantors for the loan.

• Once completed, return the application form together with your
  business plan.

• An interview will then be arranged with a small group of Trustees to discuss your business idea. These take place in February, May, August and November. Applications are required at least 4 weeks prior to the interview dates.

• If successful, you and your guarantors will sign a joint and several bond.

• The loan is interest free for 9 years, but becomes repayable by equal instalments after 3 years.
