The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity is pleased to announce that a total of eight interest-free loans, totalling £77,227, were approved following the Charity’s opening quarterly interviews of 2018.
One of Leicester’s oldest charities, The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity provides people between the ages of 18 and 35 with loans of up to £20,000 to help start or develop business within the county, or £10,000 to aid postgraduate study. All loans are completely interest-free for a nine-year period, with equal monthly repayments commencing three years after the loan is taken out.
Following the first series of interviews with applicants in 2018, a total of six business loans were approved totalling £67,227, which will help develop – among others – an online fashion business, property maintenance service provider, a florist and a window cleaning business.
The remaining £10,000 was delivered to two students who will now be able to continue their studies beyond their undergraduate qualification.
The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity’s next round of interviews with prospective borrowers takes place in May, with the deadline for applications Monday 2 April 2018.
